Friday Favorites.

Happy Friday!!! How was your week? Most of my favorites this week are things that involved my family and fun times and that is always a good thing.

On Monday we celebrated my nephew Caleb. It was his nineteenth birthday so we went to our local Mexican Restaurant where we love to celebrate. We had such a good time and the food was great!!! I bought Caleb a leather hat and belt when I was In Dahlonega Ga last week at the Gold Rush Festival. I think he liked it. It’s hard to tell with that age group.

Doesn’t he look handsome in this hat?
The whole gang!!!!
Look at this? This was my brother in law’s meal. I am not sure what all it was but it looks so yummy!!!
Awesome looking tacos.

Last week a sweet co-worker went to Pigeon Forge and brought me back this homemade lye soap. I knew there were a lot of uses for lye soap but he also brought a bit of literature about it and I found it very interesting. I think I’ll do a post on it next week. I love this little tin it is in. I have it on the sink in my downstairs bathroom.

And then another co-worker brought me home made apple butter. I can’t wait to spread this on some warm biscuits. It was just a week for sweet and thoughtful little gifts. I just love that it makes my whole day.

You probably know about this coffee at McDonalds. This is a small iced coffee, and I should have taken a picture before I drank half of it but it was just so yummy I couldn’t help it. The small is only 140 calories and $1.39 or something like that. I got a large in Knoxville last week, and I got the pumpkin spice this time, and it was only $1.99. I did find the pumpkin spice to almost be too sweet.

I just got this book in the mail. If you haven’t read Colleen Hoover you should give her a try. I read, It Ends With Us back in the summer. I loved it I could hardly put it down. This book just came out and it is the sequel to It Ends With Us. I know it seems a little funny because the title sounds like it should be the second book but if you read it you will understand. You definitely need to read It Ends With Us first. I just started this one and I can’t wait to get into it.

What have you enjoyed this week?

I have a big family reunion tomorrow and I have six loaves of bread rising in the kitchen. I am also doing my baked beans that my family loves. I can’t wait to see everyone. Have a wonderful weekend.

Always remember

Love your day your way!!!!!

What A Weekend!!- Shopping And A Trip To Dahlonega Georgia

Hello friends, how is your week going? But more importantly how was your weekend? I’m sorry I didn’t get this posted yesterday, as I usually do, but we celebrated my nephew’s’s Birthday last night and I got home late. More on that in a later post.

But back to the weekend. I had such a great weekend. First I have to tell you how beautiful it is here right now. Oh my!!!! The leaves are golden and red and falling and it is just too beautiful to describe. I am loving every minute of it.

On Saturday my sister and I went shopping for the first time in a couple of months. She has been having some back issues and hasn’t felt much like a big shopping trip. We went to Knoxville and first to Kohls. I had 30% off at Kohls, and that is about the only time I buy at Kohls. I wanted a new air fryer and since I had the discount and another $10.00 off coupon I wanted to try to find one there. I did. It’s bigger than my old one which we have had for years. I can’t wait to use it. We also went to T.J. Maxx and I found a few things there. I didn’t really find a lot overall I’ll show you more in my Friday Favorites. But let me tell you T.J. Maxx really had the pumpkins. I took several pictures you can see below. All colors and styles. I resisted. I have quite a few pumpkins and haven’ even put very many of them out this season. But if you are looking for pumpkins for decorations, you can find them at T.J. Maxx. I loved the way they grouped all the pumpkins by color.

We didn’t stay out long and came back fairly early. I visited my MIL in the Nursing facility. We are both counting the days until she goes back to her little apartment at the Assisted Living Village. She is so much happier there. I went home and chilled and went to bed early.

I got up really early on Sunday. My friend Lorie met me at my house at 7:00 AM and we headed to Dahlonega GA for The Gold Rush Days Festival. This is an annual event and we haven’t gone since 2019. So we were very excited.

We met Lorie’s sister In Dahlonega and parked at her apartment and walked into town to the square where the festival was held. We all agreed it seemed like there were less vendors than years past but still a lot to see.

You can tell how much I loved the lavender booth. It smelled so good.
I loved every one of these ceramic mugs. But mugs are something that once I find one I love I want to drink from it all the time. So I really don’t buy a lot of them.
These chairs look so comfortable. I really don’t know where I would hang it. They were very pricey but worth every dime I am sure.
I thought these were really cool. Lots of talent at this festival.
I bought my nephew Caleb, a hat and a belt from this man. You pick the leather and he can make it for you. I gave them to him last night at his Birthday dinner. He didn’t act too excited but I think he liked it. He turned 19 yesterday.
There were several woodworkers on the square.

We had some lunch and finished up our shopping and looking and visited a couple of antique stores on the square. I’ll show you what I bought on Friday Favorites. A Santa to add to my Santa collection. We decided to travel back home through Ellijay Georgia where several Apple Festivals and orchards were having pick your own apples, hayrides and petting zoos. The road was only a two lane highway and it was bumper to bumper for several miles. We bypassed the bigger orchards and stopped at a smaller one that Lorie was familiar with. It was called Three Sisters and it was outside of the traffic craziness. We didn’t pick our own apples but it was a quaint little shop with every kind of apple you can imagine as well as apple butter, and fried apple pies. I bought the Golden Delicious apples and some Rome apples. I also bought some Carmel pecan apple butter. I haven’t tried it yet but doesn’t it sound delicious?

I can’t wait to try this.

So I had a really fun weekend. I spent time with my sister and my best friend Lorie and her sister. We talked and talked and caught up on everything. The drive through North Carolina and Georgia was beautiful with all the changing leaves but I think the Tennessee side had the best colors of all. I checked several things off of my fall bucket list. What fun things have you been doing?

Always remember

Love your day your way!!!!

Friday Favorites

Hello and happy Friday. I hope your week has been just wonderful and you are planning a big happy Fall weekend. I have both weekend days planned and I am so excited about it. I have a few favorites that I wanted to share with you so let’s get started.

First of all I love mums. I even love their pungent smell and I love all the different colors. I think I love them so much because it means Fall weather is here. I always get mums for my front porch and we always have lots of them at work.

Remember when I told you a few weeks ago that Walmart had those awesome slide on sale. They come in many different colors. Well they are now on sale even more. $4.00 a pair. You know I had to pick me up a blue pair. These are so handy to just slip on and wear around the house or to the garage to take care of outside kitties. And then next year I am sure they’ll still be around for wearing when the wear gets warmer. I actually have a friend who wears flip flops and sandals all year long. Me, not so much.

I am loving this salad mix. I am bad about buying the bags of leafy greens and sticking them in the fridge until they go bad. But this chopped salad is really yummy. I like to add a boiled egg to it for extra protein. It has such a great flavor.

I have to tell you about these press on nails that I bought. These are the Kiss Empress nails. A friend of mine had some and I loved the way they looked. Now, will they last for a month? No. I have had these on for almost a week. These have a peel and stick on the back of each mail. They are very easy to put on. I have never used the ones with glue but I have heard they don’t last as well. I usually do my own manicures but I thought these would be nice for a change. They come a little longer than I like but you are able to file them down once you have them on. They come already polished. There is 30 in a set!!! So you can replace as needed. They are only $6.99 at Walmart. I love them and I think they are perfect for a nice special event or a vacation. I haven’t gardened in them yet but I have done the usual working around the house and I have to say I like them. It has been less than a week and I think I am about to have to replace one of them but give them a try if you don’t have your nails professionally done. Remember the Lee Press On Nails. We used to get those when I was a kid. These are way better.

I have been wanting a Dolly Parton T Shirt. I just love Dolly I think she is a wonderful person. She has done so much and given back so much to this area we live in. I ordered this pink one from Amazon. I think it was $18.99. I love the color and I think it will go great with jeans or a denim jacket.

I may have mentioned before that I love the CeraVe body lotion. I now use the cleanser and the night time moisturizer but I have recently switched to the daily moisturizing lotion as well. I love Bath & Body works. The lotion and body wash smells amazing. And it has always kept my skin fairly soft but it didn’t always feel hydrated. A dermatologist told me that a lot of times the lotions that have the best smells often have more perfume, which can be drying, than moisturizer. I am truly a believer. Since I have been using the CeraVe my skin is so different. I still love Bath & Body and will use it from time to time but this has now become my new favorite.

Ok I saved the best for last. These eye toning patches from Pixie are about the best things I have found lately. They come in a little container of 60. They almost feel gel like. You separate them with this little plastic paddle, that is included, and place one under each eye. They are so freaking refreshing. If you have a morning when you wake up with under eye puffiness this will do the trick. If you get home at night with tired droopy skim under your eyes, this is what you will want. I love them. I have only been able to find them at Target or online. They are a little pricey for my budget, about $24.00, but totally worth it. I don’t use them every day just when I feel like I need them.

I hope you find some of these useful. Have a wonderful weekend and I will be back on Monday with lots of happenings.

Always remember,

Love your day your way!!!!
