Sunday Morning Coffee Share

Happy Sunday and the last day of the year. Do you have big plans for the New Year? I don’t. I have to work tomorrow so I am sure I will be in bed early. The new year will arrive right on time whether I am awake to see it or not. I am perfectly happy with that.

You can see I am enjoying my coffee from my new mug that my niece gave me for Christmas. I love it!!!

I also made a blueberry cobbler to enjoy with my coffee. I am happy to share.

If we were sharing a coffee or cup of tea or hot chocolate, I am sure we would talk about the year coming to an end and, the new one starting fresh and new with tons of possibilities. What excitement that stirs in my heart.

I think first we would talk about the weather. It is beautiful today the sun is shining so bright. It is cold a chilly 38F but the sun makes it feel much warmer. Yesterday was such a gray day. It was gloomy and cold. Just perfect for staying at home and doing nothing. Today the sun is shining so bright it hurts my eyes. I think I will take a long walk later.

What I am working on:I have put the knitting aside for just a bit and have gone back to working on my heart cross stitch. Guys I have been working on this for three years. I had originally planned it for Valentine’s and as soon as Valentine’s Day has passed I put it up and forget about it. I think that because I love hearts so much it would be something to have displayed all the time.

I will also repot one of my orchids today. It is huge and I think it is two orchids. I need to separate them. I will be able to tell more about them when I get into it.

What I am reading: I finally finished The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. I have to say the last third of the book was much better than the beginning. I am currently listening to an audio book by Danielle Steel, All That Glitters, and it is really good so far. I got several books for Christmas and I can’t wait to get started on those.

What I am wearing: Well pajamas currently. I had to work all week so I decided to take it easy this weekend. I will put more clothes on later.

What I am eating: Too many treats. So many goodies are left over from Christmas. I need to load them up and take them to the break room at work. I don’t make New Year’s resolutions but I would like to change my diet and start eating healthier.

What I am looking forward to: The new year, enjoying the remaining winter season and then spring, learning new things, spending time with family and loved ones, reading a ton of books, gearing up for a new season at work and just enjoying life.

What will your New Year look like.

Always remember

Love your day your way!!!!

Sunday Morning Coffee Share

Good Sunday morning!! The sun is shining and it is a beautiful morning. The temp is about 56 Degrees F and going up to mid 60’s. The best thing is that we have been having some wonderful rain. Most people probably wouldn’t say this with such enthusiasm but we have been so dry in this area that we gladly welcome the rain, any amount we can get. Come on in and get a cup of coffee, tea, espresso or some hot chocolate and we will catch up.

I spent the entire week at home on the couch. I have Covid. Although I have to say other than staying quarantined, especially away from hubs, it has not been a bad week. I haven’t felt too bad. The first two days were the worst because of a low grade fever. Other than that just coughing and a bit of weakness. Being quarantined away from Mark whenever I get sick or even think I am sick is something we have become accustomed to throughout the years. Because of his kidney transplant he takes immunosuppressants daily. He is very susceptible to everything. Also it would hit him much harder than it would someone who is not immunosuppressed. So we always try to be very careful. It has been seven days now and so far he is still Covid free.

What I am wearing: I have spent most of the week in my pajamas. I put on sweats a couple of days to make myself feel better. I really haven’t felt too bad just a little weak and spacey. Comfy clothes always makes everything better.

What I working on: I have been knitting my fingers off. I finished several more ornaments. I also knitted a couple of toboggans and about six of the miniature toboggans that I am using to make a small winter garland. I’ll have more about those on my Monday post. I am also crocheting an afghan. I had hoped for some time to work on all of these things but I didn’t expect it to be quite like this. Be careful what you wish for.

What I am watching: I have been binge watching Grey’s Anatomy. I watched it several years ago, probably up to about season four. So as you know there are many many season I think maybe twenty. I am only on season nine. I also watched a few other things but this is the thing I go back to.

What I am reading: Nothing this week. For some reason I have had no interest in reading. I don’t know why. Maybe my concentration hasn’t been up to it. It would have been the perfect time to devour a good book but I haven’t had a desire to read. So strange.

What I am loving: All of the knitting I have been working on, Having my friends and family checking on me they are so special, My little MIL turning 90 years young, Sadly I didn’t get to visit with her but Mark did and he took her some goodies. The rain we have had and so badly need, Creativity, it seems like when I take some down time, planned or not, it allows my creative juices to flow. I guess that’s why I have been working on all my projects so much. Most of all my sweet husband, he has been taking such good care of me. We have to be very careful and haven’t seen much of each other this week. He stays downstairs and I stay upstairs. He delivers food and whatever I need and puts it outside the door. We are praying he squeaks by without having Covid.

What I am looking forward to: Getting back to work!!! And getting back to a normal routine. I will go back to work tomorrow and back to a hectic time. We have so many things coming up in the next few weeks. Not to mention Christmas is just around the corner and so is the new year. I look forward to holidays that allow special time with family. I always look forward to a shiny new year it holds such promise.

Thanks for catching up with me, What have you been up to?

Always remember

Love your day your way!!!!

Sunday Morning Coffee Share

Happy Sunday everyone. Come in and share a cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate with me. I know we would talk about the weather and what we have been up to all week. I love catching up with you. What have you been up to?

A very mild weather week ahead.
My nephew gave me this coffee mug a few years ago. It is one of my favorites.

It is a cloudy and cool morning only about 44 degrees F here. The temps will be fairly mild this week. It has been a busy busy week. Monday we went to Nashville for a quick overnight. Mark had an appointment at Vanderbilt on Tuesday. Back to work on Wednesday and then Thanksgiving on Thursday and then Black Friday shopping with my sister. So a very busy week.

What I am working on: I am still working on the knitted Christmas ornaments. I posted a how-to on a recent blog post. I have also been working on miniature toboggans that I am going to string together, somehow, and make a winter garland out of them. I have been adding a few Christmas decorations here and there. I don’t go crazy with it I like it simple.

What I am reading: I have still been struggling through with the “Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo”, but in the meantime I pulled off to read Runaway Amish Girl by Emma Gingrich. It was a fast read and very interesting. I will return to Evelyn, I think I am on husband number five.

What I am listening to: Well Christmas music of course. I made a Playlist of all the Christmas music I have on my phone. This way, I don’t have to search the bazillion songs I have in my library to get to the Christmas music. What is your favorite Christmas song?

What I am wearing: I hate to say that I have been wearing jeans or leggings or hoodies almost everywhere I go. I don’t have to dress up a lot. I have a few Christmas outings coming up so I need to put some things together for those. At work I pretty much wear a uniform or a uniform shirt and jacket. I don’t have to, but it is simple and makes getting ready for work extra easy. It’s also warm.

What I am loving: Spending time with family and friends during the holidays. It is such an exciting time. Celebrate was my word for the year and there is always so much of it this time of year.

Always remember

Love your day your way!!!!

Sunday Morning Coffee Share

I started a new series on my blog. A Coffee Share. Come on it andThis will just be a quick sharing post.

It is a beautiful Sunday morning. Only about 42 degrees F I am enjoying my second cup of coffee. Come and join me for coffee, hot chocolate, espresso or whatever your choice might be.

This is my favorite coffee mug. My niece got it for me for Christmas several years ago. I love the design and that it looks like a knitting pattern.

I get up really early every morning usually around 5:00 AM even on my days off. I made pancakes and bacon this morning as per hubs request. The only time I cook a big breakfast is on our days off together. That’s not a lot.

Oh!!! Such a beautiful sunrise this morning!!

It has been an emotional week around here. We sold my Father in law’s house. It sold really quick and we have already closed on it. It’s hard to believe the whole process started only about three weeks ago and now it is done. My father in law moved here a few years before we did. He has been gone for six years now. The house was hard to keep up so we decided to sell. I guess it just hit us extra hard this week. I think Mark and I both had our moments when the memories were just a bit overwhelming. But we know it is for the good so enough of that. If we were having coffee I would discuss with you:

What I have been working on: I have been knitting Christmas ornaments. Well I actually knit the cover and put a clear glass ball inside. I am loving them. I have finished eight so far. I think they look vintagey, I don’t think that is a real word but you know what I meant. More on those later.

What I have been listening to: Tyler Childers. I am loving his music. He is from Kentucky and plays neotraditional country, bluegrass, folk, honky-tonk. The thing I love most is how much he gives back to his home state and areas around Kentucky. There is a lot of need there.

What I am reading: The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. I have to admit this one is a bit slow. I have been at it for a while.

What I am loving: I know a lot of people disagree but I love this time of the year when it is dark by 5:30 PM. I think it is just so cozy. It’s winter anyway and you can’t do a lot outside. I love cozying up inside and doing inside things.

What I am looking forward to: Thanksgiving and being with family and friends. Mark and I are going to my nephew’s house for dinner. I will make a few things to take to eat as well.

I would love to hear how you are and anything you would like to share.

Always remember

Love your day your way!!!!
