Friday Favorites

Hello and happy Friday. I am so glad to see the weekend. With being gone a couple of days at the beginning of the week my actual work at work week was shorter but I think I am still tired from my trip.

I have some favorites from this week I would like to share with you. My Friday Favorites are made up of things I have gotten or fun things I have done during the week so here goes:

First up is this black dress I got at Walmart. It is so cute and you can’t tell from the photo but it is swingy at the hem line and it has pockets. I paired it with this denim jacket but you could add lots of things to it. And it was only $9.99 what????

I will be going to Texas in a couple of weeks and I think I may just have to wear my boots with this.

Next are these short scarves, ascot, neckband whatever you want to call them. I sometimes like to wear a scarf but it’s still a little too warm for a big bulky scarf. I had a shirt on last week that just needed something around the neck. I couldn’t find anything in my huge pile of scarves so I ran by Walmart on my way to work and found these two. I tied the reddish orange one on right away. And they were only $1.99. I think they add a little color and neck cover if you feel you need that.

I was in Dollar General earlier in the week and I bought these cute fall things to put on my entry table.

I love pumpkins, I can’t get enough of them.

But the most fun thing I did this week was hanging out with some of my co-workers. We decided to treat ourselves to a little end of season celebration. We went to a great place near Knoxville for wings and then spent a couple of hours at Topgolf. We had so much fun!!! We are together at work almost every day. But getting to just have fun and laugh and not have any work stress was just the best. If you haven’t tried Topgolf you should. It is so much fun. You have your own bay, there are several levels,we were in the second level, and you can order food and drinks.

We shared a couple of appetizers. So Good!!!!
I tried several sauces. You can tell I am a big Ranch fan. The Honey BBQ Ranch was my favorite.
The Champs, NOT!!!!

What fun things did you do this week?

Always remember

Love your day your way!!!!!

Friday Favorites

Hello friends and happy Friday. I guess I am happy it’s Friday. My vacation is winding down. It has been a fun week. We didn’t do our beach vacation but we did get some much needed things done around the house and had fun just hanging out together. My sister and I had a shopping trip yesterday and lunch and that was a lot of fun. We also got together with my niece and a friend earlier in the week.

I have some favorites of mine I would like to share with you. You may have tried some of these or are using them. Let me know if you have or do and what you think.

First of all is my new reading glasses that I got at the Dollar Tree. They weren’t a dollar they were actually a dollar and twenty five cents. But aren’t they cute!!! I have a pair in every room of the house now. HA!!!!

I got this Glyconic Acid Toner at T.J. Maxx. My sister and I did some shopping yesterday. I like to try new things from T.J. Maxx because they are relatively inexpensive and it is a good way to test products without spending a fortune. I have only used this twice but it really made my skin feel so fresh. It also has a fresh clean smell.

I always thought that L.A. Colors was a cheap no good makeup brand. I never really bothered looking at their products but I have to say I have been impressed by this eye makeup. You can buy this at Walmart and again not a huge investment to try out some new colors. I couldn’t believe how well this shadow lasted all day. Compared to some I have used and spent much more money on I am very happy with it.

Yummy Sea Salt caramels. I love Carmels. I got these at T.J. Maxx yesterday. You know how they have all those impulse items when you are waiting in the check out line. I saw these and just had to have them. A good size bag for only $4.99. I am very impulsive.

I have seen these slides all over social media. There are several different brands I loved the look and they come in so many different colors. I wasn’t sure I wanted to spend $25.00 on a pair. So I saw these at Walmart a couple of weeks ago for $11.99. They were on clearance. I looked at them but I knew I didn’t really need them. Last week I was in Walmart and they were marked down to $9.00 and such a variety of colors. Of course what do I choose but black. But I do have a reason for this. I plan to wear them when it gets cooler with some of my colorful socks I have knitted. Yep I am that person. I do plan on returning to Walmart, where they may have been reduced even more, and grab a blue and a pink or yellow pair. They are so comfy.

Have you tried this Cheddar Bay Biscuit Mix. I used it several years ago and then sort of forgot about it. I bought a box last week at the grocery store and made them last Sunday for dinner. A couple of things I had forgotten from last time. Use twice the amount of Cheddar cheese and add a little more water. They are so yummy.

I love using this sponge for my foundation makeup. If you don’t use a sponge it may take a little getting used to but once you do you will love it. I always use this type of sponge. I think it makes your makeup application so much smoother.

And finally two books I finished last week. The first one, 28 Summers, by Elin Hilderbrand. I think I could read anything by this woman and love it. I have read everything by her except The Hotel Nantucket which will be my next one. This book 28 Summers was so good I could’t stop reading it. I found myself picking it up every time I had a spare moment. One thing I loved about it at the beginning of each summer there would be recap of what was going on in the world at that time. That brought back a lot of memories.

The Forever Summer was an audio book. I just finished it a couple of days ago. It was very good. A little slow in places but I would still recommend it.

These are some of my favorites this week. But my most favorite of course is my little Scruffy. Today is National Dog Day and I have to share him with you. He is doing as well as can be expected with his heart issues. It breaks my heart to see the changes in him. We will love him as long as we can and cherish every moment with him.

My sweet Scruffy

I hope you enjoyed this list of things and may find some of them useful to you.

Friday Favorites

Hello Friends and happy Friday. Just a few things I wanted to share with you this week. I hope you find some of these things useful.

First of all is this steamer. I have been wanting one of these for a while. When I was growing up my mama ironed everything, and I grew up doing that too. But through the years I iron very little. There are still things I take out of my closet and think, I need to iron that before I wear it. Then I have to go downstairs to my ironing board. I have always kept my ironing board set up in my laundry room even though I rarely use it now. A lot of times I just wouldn’t wear the clothes because they needed to be pressed. Now all of that has changed. I put a hook on my closet door, and I just hang the clothes there that need to be pressed and steam the wrinkle out of them.

This is handheld, very light weight and was about $31.99 at Amazon. I love it.

Next is this Poreless Putty Primer by Elf. This is very light weight and I put it on with a small makeup sponge just before I put on my makeup. It is light but gives your face such a smooth even feel for applying makeup.

I got this at Walmart, but you can also get it at Target or anywhere that sells E.L.F. Cosmetics. It is usually $8.00-$10.00

I guess I am all about some hair accessories right now. My hair is longer than it has been in a long time, so I am having fun with the headbands and the hair clasps like I showed you. But I just had to have these large flower hair clips. They are so much fun. They are colorful and large, and they hold a lot of hair. I keep several of these around the house and in my car. When I feel the need to put my hair up, especially if I am working in the house and get hot, or on my way to work and need to tame my hair a little, I have one handy.

Aren’t these adorable? I also ordered these from Amazon and I got an assortment of colors 8 for $15.99. They are very durable. Not flimsy at all.

I am loving these little mascara wands. These are by Equate. There is about 20 in a pack. These were $4.99 and I use them after I put my mascara on and feel the need to brush out my eyelashes. They also work well on your brows.

Have you ever tried this Power Paste? I tried it a few weeks ago. It comes with a little tub of cleaning paste. There is a scrubber that you wet and dip into the paste and it works great!!!!

This is about $10.00 at Walmart. I thought that was a little pricey but it lasts for a long time.

These peds work great when you don’t want socks or footies showing. These are light weight and really stay in place. You can get several different colors.

These are around $9.99 for a pack of 3 at Walmart.

You know I would have some snacks as part of my favorites this week. This popcorn is Carmel and cheddar. It is like the Chicago Popcorn that you can buy at Costco. These are smaller bags and I got them at The Dollar General Store for $3.50 a bag. Mark and I love them. It’s a pretty good sized bag. I bought every bag they had. It’s a good snack.

I saw this beautiful rainbow on my way home.

Some other favorites this week:

I saw a beautiful rainbow.

We celebrated my Sister’s Birthday this week with a lot of our family.

My niece came for a wonderful visit and brought her daughter. It was so wonderful spending time with them. They live in California, and I haven’t seen them in several years.

I had Sister Lunch with my Sister and another lunch with my good friend Dann.

I am making a special Birthday cake for my Sister in law for this weekend. I will take pictures.

So, lots of good things this week.

Friday Favorites & Some Amazon Finds

Happy Friday. It seems like this week has gone by really fast. How about for you? I wanted to share with you some favorite things from this past week. First up are some of my Amazon finds

I had read about this heatless curling tool contraption thingy on Instagram and TikTok. It is supposed to make beautiful wavy curls just by wearing it all night. So I ordered this one and it was relatively inexpensive. It is very soft and easy to use. Your hair should be fairly wet or damp when you put it in. It is easy to sleep in. I tried it out the other night and I rather liked it. What do you think of the way my hair turned out. I have super straight hair to start with. I put it in my hair while watching the video on my phone. A few choice words were uttered but it’s really not that hard to get in. I was afraid it would fall out during the night but it didn’t it stayed nice and secure.

From Amazon, I know it looks a little strange. You can google a video on how to use this it’s pretty simple.
I liked the way it turned out. Not super curly but that is o.k. I got a lot of compliments at work.

I am also loving headbands right now. I ordered two sets from Amazon. I love wearing them on a day I’m not going to wash my hair. These are so different than when I was growing up. Those were so bad they would give me headaches but these are nice and soft. They are great for second day hair.

So far this one with the pearls is my favorite.

Another hair product I am loving is this Biosilk. One of my young co-workers just graduated from Cosmetology school and I asked her what would be good for my dry hair. She suggested this leave in hair oil. I love it!!! You can use it on wet or dry hair. The first time I used it on my hair when it was dry and I liked it. But the second time I used it on my hair after I got out of the shower and towel dried it. I should say T shirt dried it. That’s what I use to absorb the water in my hair. My hair felt so silky and smooth. I couldn’t believe it. Second day hair today and it feels just as silky.

Amazon

This is called a cremation bracelet. Mark and I both got one to put some of Molly’s ashes in. That may totally turn you off and gross you out but we love them. It is just a very small amount of ashes that goes into it. It makes us feel close to our Molly.

Amazon

I love this magazine. I picked this one up at Walmart earlier in the week. Country Sampler Farmhouse. It has so many neat projects I hope I get to do a few of them.

Walmart

I mentioned a while back how much I love the Neutrogena foaming face wash but hold up there’s a new kid in town. New to me anyway. I couldn’t find the regular Neutrogena foaming face wash so I bought this foaming daily cleanser and I am loving it!!!! It comes out like a gel and then becomes a light lather. I love it.

Walmart

I finally finished this audio book it was seventeen hours long. It was so good. I got it through the online library with the Libby app. I hated finishing it. I have been listening to it on my way to and from work.

Free through the Libby App

And the best most favorite thing is spending time with my sweet hubs and family. Gus wakes me up every morning, usually around 4:00 AM, wanting snuggles. And that is fine by me.

What are some of your favorites this week?
