Happy Thursday friends, Tuesday was my Birthday and my wedding anniversary, remember I told you a few posts back that I got married on my Birthday. I will have to say this was the first Birthday and Anniversary spent in Quarantine and hopefully the only one. Although it was not bad, it was a little different. My husband and I have been married for 30 years as of last Tuesday. It was a pretty low key day just doing the usual things around the house. We usually go out and eat somewhere nice and buy something we want. But we couldn’t do that Tuesday so we just stayed in and it was o.k.
I cooked. I made a large chocolate Birthday cake/ Anniversary cake. I also made a very nice dinner of our favorite foods for our anniversary dinner. It was nice.
I have to say that it was very different, in a lot of ways, than any other Birthday and Anniversary. Very quiet. I had a lot of phone calls and messages. A phone call from a friend in Colorado who I met through my blog and that was very special. My sisters called me. My friends called me. I felt loved.
The 30th Wedding Anniversary is supposed to be the gift of pearls. My husband and I don’t really do gifts for each other. For my Birthday my husband did give me a nice knitting bag that I love!!! But as for the pearls that is always me. I love pearls and I wear them all the time. I am drawn to them. I have so many pearl necklaces and earrings and I wear them all the time. So that must mean that 30 years of marriage is especially special.
So a quiet, nice Birthday, Anniversary in quarantine. What more could you ask for? Not being in quarantine? Next year, right???
Always remember
Love your day your way!!!

Happy birthday and anniversary Lisa. The cake loomed large and delicious looking on my monitor. Just a side note a friend of mine had a birthday on Tuesday night. They decorated their balcony that faces the street with a hawaiian theme and she wore appropriate attire including a flower lei. That evening between 6:30 to 7:00 friends drove by and waved, stopped on the street and chatted from road to balcony. It was cute and fun. It is easy to do as the drive from end to end in my city is less than 10 minutes. Yay!
